นอกจากนี้ยังมีภาพยนตร์ที่ไม่ใช่ของ อีโอเอ็น คือ ทีเด็ดเจมส์บอนด์ 007 (Casino Royale) เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2510 เดวิด นิเวน เป็นเจมส์ บอนด์ และ พยัคฆ์เหนือพยัคฆ์ (Never Say Never Again) เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2526 ซึ่งเป็นการรีเมค ธันเดอร์บอลล์ 007 (Thunderball) โดย ฌอน คอนเนอรี กลับมารับบทเป็นเจมส์ บอนด์ อีกครั้ง
ตัวเลข 007 ที่อยู่ท้ายชื่อของเจมส์ บอนด์ หมายถึงรหัสลับประจำตัวที่ใช้เรียกแทนตัวเขาในฐานะของสายลับคนหนึ่ง โดยเลข 00 ที่นำหน้าเลข 7 อยู่นั้น ถือเป็นสัญลักษณ์ที่แจ้งให้ทราบว่า ตัวเขาเป็นสายลับที่ได้รับอนุญาตให้สามารถสังหารชีวิตผู้อื่นได้โดยไม่ผิดกฎหมาย ซึ่งในประเด็นนี้ ได้มีนักวิเคราะห์บางคนแสดงทัศนะว่า เฟลมิ่งน่าจะได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมาจากสายลับชาวอังกฤษผู้หนึ่งในช่วงศตวรรษที่ 16 ที่ได้ส่งสารลับมาถึงสมเด็จพระบรมราชินีนาถอลิซาเบธที่ 1 ด้วยรหัส 00 ซึ่งมีความหมายว่า "สำหรับพระเนตรของพระองค์เท่านั้น" (For Your Eyes Only)
