Mickey (Burns); a free-spirited New York cabbie; and Francis (Mike McGlone); a materialistic Wall Street stockbroker; are extremely competitive and confused about women as a result of their father's (John Mahoney) influence.

Though they disagree about nearly everything; they have one thing in common: Mickey's ex-fianc้ Heather (Cameron Diaz) is Francis' secret lover.
